ABOUT US

Springbrett for ungdom is a non-profit voluntary organization whose aim is to create inclusive arenas for children and young people between the ages of 13 and 25. We want to give children and young people life skills as social actors through experiences in sports, culture, courses and leisure activities. We want to create relevant and inclusive offers regardless of socio-economic barriers. All children and young people have the right to leisure and to participate in art and cultural life. Not everyone gets that opportunity.

1.

is an important part of our work. It will therefore be free to participate in all our activities, projects and events. So that it does not feel stigmatizing for the young people, everyone is given the opportunity to participate in charity events, family events and other outward-looking work for the organisation.  Through our collaboration with sports teams, cultural institutions and other social actors, both participants and volunteers gain a broader understanding of the target group we all work with. This will be useful, safe and inclusive for everyone.

OUR HISTORY

2015 took Cidi Nzita initiative for the organization "Alle skal med - et lysglimt i værdgegen" which was initially an activity offer for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers at Breimyra Reception in Åsane together with IL Norna-Salhus. In 2021, we were registered in Brønnøysund and the Voluntary Register as a voluntary organization with the name "Springboard for ungdom". We have a board of 6 volunteers, a separate youth council with volunteers, and have entered into cooperation agreements with a number of local actors. Our target group is young people between 13 and 25-year-olds who do not get the opportunity to participate in organized activities due to finances, or because parents do not want to prioritize this. All our offers are free for participants and have the same goal: everyone should join - regardless of finances, ethnicity and religion.

Working with children and young people gives me joy. When you can help by giving them the tools to become strong enough to master life in the best possible way and happiness on their way!

- Cidi Nzita

THE BOARD

Springbrett for ungdom working board consists of seven passionate people who work voluntarily to be able to plan and implement courses and activities throughout the year.

Each year the hope is to be able to develop the organization into something even bigger, to be able to help and spread joy to as many young people as possible. We are a unique and diverse group with different areas of focus, which means that we work well together.

What I'm passionate about:

Respect and unity

Why I joined:

I have been a participant in Springbrett before and thought it was so much fun and enjoyed seeing how it brought so much unity between young people, so it motivated me to become part of the youth council and contribute to other young people having the same experience.

I think it is important that children and young people should always feel welcomed and that they should receive the same respect that they are expected to give to us adults, regardless of ethnic background.

Inclusion of young people who struggle with various challenges in life.

Why I joined:

Being part of Springbrett for ungdom people's youth council interests me in Springbrett has helped me to get better social skills and lots of good and fun experiences. The most important thing for me is to communicate with children and young people from different backgrounds and life situations and help them to achieve social development through communication and community.

The creativity of young people

Why I joined:

My goal for next year is to work on the development of Springbrett so that young people can be creative and social. The fact that young people don't stay at home, but get to develop creatively, is something I want to focus more on with Springbrett for young people

What I'm passionate about:

That everyone should have equal opportunities, regardless of background.

Why I joined:

What I like most is meeting new people and playing football. Working as a volunteer at Springbrett for ungdom is an honor and a source of pride. The offers that are given are not only important but are also very social and fun. The reason why I agreed to join the youth board is because I think it is very important that everyone has the opportunity for the same offers and activities regardless of background. And I wanted to help with this.

What I'm passionate about:

That young people should have a place where they can feel support and safety

Why I joined:

It is important to me that one should not feel alone. You can come here with or without friends, because you will meet many friendly faces anyway. I want to help create a place where everyone should feel good enough and part of a good environment - a network that provides support and security, where you can feel good in your own body and personality. I want to help show myself and others that it is not dangerous to meet new people, and I want to help someone have a place where they always belong and always feel welcome.

COUNCIL MEMBER

RAEF

What I'm passionate about:

Inclusion and transparency

Why I joined:

I was born in the mountains, but have a background from Palestine. When I started at Springbrett, I felt a sense of belonging, there were adults with whom I could talk about my problems. The reason why I am involved in Springbrett's youth council is that I want other young people to experience the same thing that I experienced. I think it is important to show respect, understanding and listening to each other.

What I'm passionate about:

That others should be fine

Why I joined:

I am 17 years old and attend Fyllingsdalen secondary school. In my spare time I love to exercise and hang out with friends. I volunteer because I want to do something for other people. When I see that others are doing well, I get a good feeling inside. Working as a volunteer is perfectly fine for me, because creating joy in others is much more valuable to me than money. It is also a great way to get to know new people and create new relationships.

What I'm passionate about:

Mental health.

Why I joined:

Mental health among young people is worse than ever because of this and other things, so I want to be part of springboard, which is an organization that can help make a difference for many young people who need it! Springbrett stands for what is important when working with children and young people, namely creating a sense of belonging and a safe place. This is something I want to contribute to and therefore be part of the youth council in Springbrett for ungdom.

COUNCIL MEMBER

KAZIM

What I'm passionate about:

Socialization and that others should have fun

Why I joined:

I am involved because I like to see young people having fun and socializing with others and the way I see them mastering things is a joy I get from it. I also feel that I can teach others things that I myself have learned during my life

THE YOUTH COUNCIL

The youth council at Springbrett for ungdom must be the voice of the youth. The young people who are part of the council must bring issues that young people are concerned about to the executive board.

The Youth Council must, in close collaboration with the Board, propose activities and offers that young people are interested in.

The young people in the council have the right to be heard and included in Springbrett for ungdom development and have the opportunity to shape the way forward for the organisation.
